GD Power's subsidiary to invest in renewable energy projectsPublished: 25 Mar 2009 23:40:01 PST<p class="authorInfor"]</p]<!--begin CK content--]<P]Mar. 26, 2009 (China Knowledge) - GD Power Development Co Ltd (GD Power)&lt;600795&gt; today announced it will invest a total of RMB 660.26 million to help its subsidiary, Guodian Technology &amp; Environment Group Co Ltd, enlarge its registered capital to complete the subsidiary's renewable energy projects, the Shanghai Securities News reported.</P]<P]Guodian Technology &amp; Environment will build a plant to purify polysilicon for solar power use. The construction will be divided into two phases. The first phase will be completed by Oct. 2010 at a cost of RMB 392.15 million. When complete, the plant will produce 50 million tons of polysilicon annually. </P]<P]Meanwhile, the company will build a wind power equipment manufacturing base in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province. The project will be completed by the end of 2009.</P]<P]The company's decision to invest in renewable energy is in line with the country's goal of moving toward cleaner electricity.<BR]</P]
