CNPC plans to invest RMB 300 bln in 2009Published: 20 Jan 2009 00:00:00 PST<p class="authorInfor"]</p]<!--begin CK content--]<P]Jan. 20, 2009 (China Knowledge) - China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC), the country's largest integrated oil and gas company, said it plans a total investment of RMB 300 billion for 2009, the official China Business News reported Tuesday, citing an unnamed company official.</P]<P]The report said that CNPC expects its revenue in 2008 to fall as compared with 2007, mainly due to the unexpected slide in global oil prices. In 2008, the company paid RMB 85 billion in windfall taxes, costing 62.42% of the company's total profits for the year. </P]<P]However, CNPC said the proposed level of investment for 2009 is equivalent to last year's, as it has sufficient cash. Meanwhile, it will adjust its investment plan on some current projects and will adopt a more stringent approval process for new projects.</P]<P]State-owned CNPC is the parent of PetroChina&lt;601857&gt;&lt;857&gt;&lt;PTR&gt;, the nation's top oil producer.<BR]</P]
